Secure Dog Fields - North Cornwall

Secure Dog Fields - North Cornwall

Cornwall is well known for its gorgeous beaches and long walks, the perfect place to take your dog!

But what if you have a reactive dog that you still want to take on holiday with you? Or you book a holiday and suddenly your dog comes into season just before you go away? Or maybe simply you just want to escape the busy beaches and coastal walks for somewhere quiet and private with your best friend.

I've compiled a list of the best secure dog fields we found on a recent trip down to North Cornwall in April, these are all situated within a 20 minute drive from Padstow.

1. Kingfishers Rest

Located in Knightswood Equestrian Centre, this 7 acre site offers secure walking through woodland and meadows and even has it's own lake that your dogs can swim in. There is 5ft 6in specialist dog fencing all around the walk and parking available for 2-3 cars, there is also parking nearby for more cars if needed.

2. Lillypond Meadows

Lillypond meadows is also located in Knightswood Equestrian Centre and is a 7 acre site that allows you to explore around parkland and has a small pond that your dogs can swim in. There are also 2 smaller water splashes for less confident swimmers. The walk is surrounded by 6ft high specialist dog fencing but please note that horses are visible from the field. There is parking available for 2-3 cars, and there is also parking nearby for more cars if needed.

3. Brynn Beacon

Located in the middle of the countryside, Brynn Beacon is the largest area at Brynn Hill and it is recommended that you book at least a 2 hour session, which we would 100% agree with. The paddock is enclosed by a 4ft stock fence and heavy vegetation and there are many different paths to discover. When exploring you will find a pond, lots of open space and a beacon at the heart of the paddock.

4. Beacon Lakes

This is another Brynn Hill secure paddock and has a 5 acre field for your dogs to run around in. At the bottom of the paddock you will find a gate, go through it and you will find a lake that is perfect for your dog to go swimming in. Please note though that whilst there is a grab rope leading down to the lake the slope down is quite steep.

5. Brynn Paddock

Set within 10 acres of moorland this paddock has several mixed moorland paths to explore and is enclosed with a 4ft stock fence. Please note though that a country road runs along the side of the paddock and it also shares a boundary with another trail.
